A question for you, and maybe for the readers here: what preparation would you propose to the lay person approaching this work for the first time? Not someone pursuing a full apprenticeship, but someone genuinely called to ceremony who has no cultural scaffolding for any of this — no lineage, no teacher, no framework beyond curiosity and whatever YouTube and podcasts have given them.

Because the gap you describe between the traditional container and the modern retreat model feels like exactly where people get hurt. And the dieta, as you've laid it out, is clearly not something you can half-do. So what does honest, responsible preparation actually look like for someone starting from zero?
