Essential reading for anyone in the psychedelic community - a revival of honest, all sides present gum shoe journalism on the psychedelic beat is long overdue!

This is such an important call-out. Your distinction between having a voice and becoming an influencer feels especially crucial in a space where people are vulnerable and easily swayed. The psychedelic world needs more transparency, not more polish. Really appreciate you naming the tension so directly- it’s a conversation the ecosystem has needed for a long time.

April, may a higher vision deliver us from the trappings of this world.

Hi, My latest. I write about culture, politics, anthropology, psychedelics and culture. Also, excerpts from my cinematic memoir (really looking for feedback on these pieces)

Psychedelic-Assisted Psychotherapy: A Comprehensive Review of Approaches and Implications

Background: Psychedelic-assisted therapy has emerged from decades of prohibition to become one of the most promising developments in mental health treatment, with compounds such as psilocybin, MDMA, and ketamine showing remarkable efficacy in early trials for conditions including depression, PTSD, and addiction. Objective: This comprehensive review synthesizes current evidence on psychedelic-assisted therapy, examining neurobiological mechanisms, clinical efficacy across disorders, therapeutic modalities, methodological challenges, and sociocultural dimensions including Indigenous knowledge systems and ethical considerations.

This really resonates. I appreciate your clarity in naming the tension between inquiry and influence- especially in a space where the audience is often vulnerable and searching for meaning or relief. Psychedelics amplify trust as much as they amplify experience, and that makes transparency non-negotiable. I’m grateful you’re drawing a clear ethical line here and reminding us that credibility, nuance, and disclosure matter more than access, freebies, or follower counts. The field needs more voices willing to slow down and hold this responsibility with care.

Absolutely. Being bought for "influence" is the death of honest journalism. That Antarctic cruise kinda had the smell of that vibe.
